Danielle is learning to balance this .270 Ruger on it's Bi-pod elevated to the seated position. Shots such as this could be made from behind a fallen tree, a sage bush, or a flat blind.
The Ruger has a jeweled action, with Leupoid 3x9 variable power scope, Range Finder, 1/8 inch adjustments, a Bullet Drop Compensator, and protective clear lens protector covers.
Here being demonstrated is how to properly measure a bipod. To fit Tammie here, the bipod legs must be elevated to the point where her head & spine are aligned vertically, her eyes are horizontal, and she is not squatting hunched over. BIPODS come in a variety of sizes, close to the ground at about 6 inches to 10 inches, 12 to 24 inches as above, and even higher. Some people prefer cross sticks one size fits all. Bipods are expensive (good ones $60-$100). | |

The SWAT Rifleman, aka "Sniper" has an awesome responsibility. S/he has to have the mental brain power to calculate the range, angle, bullet trajectory, wind speed, air temperature, humidity, elevation above sea level, and know the characteristics of his/her weapon and the ammunition. That is why ammunition is purchased in LOTS of at least 1,000 rounds, usually 10,000 rounds;
LOTS: ammo has a standard parameter of acceptable tolerances. However, one "lot" maybe made with powder "X", while the next "lot" is made with powder "YXZ". The first lot may hit the target 1 inch higher than the second lot, but both meet the tolerances. A one inch difference can make the accurate shooter miss his target and hit something in the background. When a SWAT team buys new ammo, all team members shoot until they are satisfied they know the specific characteristics of the new "lot".
