Cowboy Action: SD is taking aim for a bullseye
Cowboy Action Shooting is probably the fastest growing shooting sport.  It's bringing the Wild West back to you shooting community.  Old style towns are being built to re-live the events of the late 1800's.  It's real, it's fast pace, it's really fun.
As a kid, my family would visit Frontier City in Oklahoma.  It was the wild wild west live and right in front of us. They had cookouts, roundups, and yes they had gunfights .... yippie ki yea!!
My sister and I survived a real life crash in a real stage coach.  The horses were running fast and the right front wheel axle hub broke.  I saw the wheel fall behind us and the stage lurched hard right ..... and through a split rail fence we went ....  really cool ! ! !  We were about 8 years old.  It was a life long memory.
It's my intention, to continue the family tradition by re-enacting our ancestory, for fun only.  That tradition is that of Cole Younger, Jonny Ringo, the Earps, Bat Masterson, Doc Holiday, Wild Bill, etc.  According to certain documents, Jonny Ringo and Younger were related, and the Younger family is on my Mother's side of the family tree.  Major General Henry Knox is on my father's side of the family tree (1st Secretary of War, 1776 War of Independance).
We, the citizens of Tennessee, have a city being built for Cowboy Action near Wartrace TN.  It's 3 dimensional and expanding each year.  It has 145 members, and they shoot the first Saturday of each month, and during the Spring-Summer-Fall they also shoot each 3rd Sunday.  The Saturday shoots have catered lunch.  The Shooter's briefing is mandatory and starts at 0930.  For more information see thier website by typing "Wartrace Regulators" in the search engine.
An excellent source of information on the characteristics and equipment is The Top Shooter's Guide To Cowboy Action Shooting by Hunter Scott Anderson.  It's written with proven tips to sharpen your skills.  It's packed with pictures and techniques.
